A Growing Field

This article talks about a man named John Christian. He is an Organic farmer in Canterbury, Connecticut. He is talking about a day’s work in his life. Well it starts at getting up at seven in the morning and watering the plants also letting the chickens out the house. He expects he won’t be rich like some of the bigger organic farms. He says he makes about the minimum a small farm makes about $15,603 a year. Organic farming means farming not using harmful chemicals that help the growing process. He does everything himself hoping to produce rich soil someday. He grows mainly greens suck as lettuce, arugula, kale and bok choy. He is now starting to make his own soap and sells at the local farmers market. He sells about three days a week. Many people in America would like organic Fruits and vegetables. But many things we now buy in the supermarket are grown the opposite of organic. So if you want the best tasting fruit and vegetables why not try organic farming right. It says in here that there were 1.3 million farmers, ranchers, and agriculture managers in the United States. Eighty percent of those were self-employed farmers and ranchers. So even you can do it by yourself and work your way up to the big farms.

Caring for the Big Guys

Well this article talks about some big farm animal trainers/Doctors. Who take care of animals such as cows, horses, and a giraffe sometimes. It starts out by talking about a mare trotting around. He is being difficult to work with says one of the trainers. But they have to deal with it because this is the type of work they themselves picked. I mean it must be fun to work with these animals all day. One of them says it keeps them in shape. Well the vets also go all over the place to other farms to help these animals. From disease treating to difficult births they get the job done. They also talk about the danger working with these animals are from getting kicked to being head-butted. One of the doctors said “he was kicked by a baby horse, and what a kick he punched.” They also talk about many other animals come from Big snakes that won’t eat to an elephant with a sore foot. There are many veternary schools out there so you can do your part to help the horses you ride and love out. From those of you who are passionate about animals and science, it may be the best of all worlds.

You are what you E-mail

Well what this is talking about is E-mail. They say that you can tell a lot about someone’s messages and the way they write it. I mean that is really cool that they can do those now days. I mean they pay attention to little details that us kids do. I mean abbreviations and just the way we right in capitals, or lower case. Many Businesses have an audit to see what there workers are E-mailing. Also there are eight things may help your E-mails sound more urgent if you need them to. These eight things are: Put your bottom line in the subject line, Lead with the most important information, Choose your content and tone carefully, Treat your e-mail like an English paper, Proofread, Add a signature to your messages, Respond quickly to others’ e mails, Cover one topic per e-mail. Follow these eight things and your e-mails may be taken more serious.

Navigating The College Fair.

Well I think college fairs are really good for seniors who have no idea what they are doing. I mean I myself know what I want to be but I still want to see what colleges offer what courses I want to take. I think it’s really cool that colleges do this for people I mean its better then figuring out were you want to go to school and not know anything about this college at all right. Well many people know were they wanted to go or have a place they want to go but many don’t. So if your one of these people you might want to ask about the thing your willing to go to school for. I mean ask what the school offers then in your career also try to fill out the cards they need to contact you. Many Admission representatives Suggest bringing a sheet of labels preprinted with your key information. I mean it’s your future you need to take the initiative you need to go and get it done. Also getting a career your willing to do and go threw. So listen to what they have to say and also pay attention to what the offer and find out what you would like to pursue.

Top Floor, Please!

Well it all talks about this lady named Debbie Grant. As she graduated high school she spent awhile in community college. She then decided that higher education was not right for her. So she heard from a friend who was telling her about positions in the hotel business. So she decides to find more about it. She then goes in and gets the job. Then she is molded and trained to do what she does best. So now she is a big time person in the hotel industry. This all started from working as a meeting and dining booker. It also talks about the growing of hotels and job openings. But I think that would be a great career to go into because you keep your options as she says open starting small ad blowing up big time. Hotel business would be good but many people really don’t know about it. Well you may have to give some thought into I mean you may have to be a really good people person. Because you’re working with many people who have different needs and backgrounds. So you really have to cooperate and listen and always remember the Guest or customer is always right.

Face- Off

Well I think a lot of people are very nervous about who there going to vote for. I mean you have to pay very close attention to who you think the people want to run this country. I myself would like Barack Obama to win. But that is just my opinion and it don’t mean anything unless I can vote. Well John McCain And Barack Obama have two totally different ways they plan to help the economy. McCain wants to start at the top of the business charts and go down. But Obama wants to start with the lower class and work his way to the top. I think they both have good things to do for America. But the thing is who is going to stick by there story. Well when it comes to the war in Iraq Obama had only certain things to say. “Like he is going to pull the troops out within 18 months he gets elected into office.” There is a lot also happening with the gas we need to run our cars. At first it was sky rocketing now the prices are starting to come back down to a respectable price. What you might have to take into consideration the day you walk into that booth to vote for one of the two ask yourself who is going to follow there plan. Who is going to make this a better safer and stronger America. Obama or McCain?

Future Fibers

Well to me there talking a lot about how Fibers work and are used. Well to me I think it's pretty cool. Thinking that the clothes we wear and buy are some what related to space air bags. Well this Wendy Krause is a really intelligent woman. This says that she was always in to chemistry in high school which is to me a little odd. But now she is a very well and respected scientist. I mean she could make the next firefighter gear the safer. And just thinking how small these things are she work with must take great concentration. It’s Really cool to know what we have in our clothes or even the things we want are made of. But these people who work with fibers or textiles are really brilliant people and something I may want to look into.
